Jamie Snashall
Jamie Snashall is one of Australia's most respected strategic advisers, bringing more than three decades of experience working at the intersection of government, public policy, industry, and major project delivery. As Principal of Darned Advisory, he provides trusted counsel to organisations navigating complex policy environments, stakeholder landscapes, and project challenges across the public and private sectors.
Widely known and highly regarded in Canberra and across Australia, Jamie combines deep policy expertise with a practical understanding of how governments, agencies, industry and communities interact to shape decisions and deliver outcomes. His extensive network and nuanced understanding of political, regulatory and stakeholder dynamics enable clients to confidently manage risk, build strategic relationships, and progress complex initiatives.
Most recently, Jamie served as Senior Adviser to the Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, from 2022 to 2026, providing political and policy advice on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, cancer, pharmacy, genomics, clinical trials and the Therapeutic Goods Administration, including delivery of the 8th Community Pharmacy Agreement and the Australian Cancer Plan. Prior to this, he was Head of Public Affairs at Medicines Australia, the peak body for innovative medicines and vaccines manufacturers, from 2018 to 2022, leading government relations, communications and stakeholder engagement through the COVID-19 pandemic and securing a five year strategic agreement with the Commonwealth Government.
Earlier in his career, Jamie held senior leadership, advisory and government relations roles across some of Australia's most influential organisations. He has served as Director of Public Health at the Australian Medical Association, Deputy Director of Government Relations at Telstra, and held senior advisory positions supporting former Prime Minister Julia Gillard as Shadow Minister for Health and Immigration, as well as former Victorian Deputy Premier and Attorney-General Rob Hulls. Jamie began his career in the APS in the Department of Health and subsequently worked in the Department of Environment and Australian Bureau of Statistics.
